Your Subscription Page is Now Called Shortlist

We’ve decided to scrap the old Subscription page and replace it with a new system which we’ve named Shortlist. Think of it as parsed down issue of Previews.

The way the new Shortlist system works is easy. While shopping, click the ADD TO SHORTLIST button on any series you would like to keep track of in the future. Now when you load up your Shortlist page you’ll see upcoming releases from series that you’ve shortlisted. Easy peasey.

These titles will not automatically be added to your pull list. You can now use your Shortlist page to select and purchase your upcoming books.

We’ve also kept your the titles you were previously subscribed to on your Shortlist page. And guess what?! The Remove This Series button on in Shortlist actually works now! Whoo!

We also squashed some other lingering bugs, fixed some design issues, and did a whole bunch of behind the scenes work to make Jesse’s life easier. Because we’re cool like that.

Let’s get right into it. We’ve rolled out some great things since the last release.

Checkout

You may have noticed your checkout happens in a matter of seconds. Huzzah! We worked with the team over at WooCommerce to make this happen. Times will vary obviously, but in my testing I was able to checkout with 300 products in less than 7 seconds.

Weekly Pickups

Every Wednesday you will receive an email with all of your pickups for the week. On top of that, you can also navigate to your Account Dashboard at any time and see your pickups from last week, this week, and next week. This was a big feature that we wanted to implement, and we’re thrilled to have it out in the wild. Let me know if there are any issues with it. In the mean time, head over to your Dashboard to check it out.

In an effort to keep everyone apprised of the happenings and goings on here on the website, Jesse and I have decided to blog about new updates to the site.

First, my name is Jake Caputo. I’m a designer and developer working out of DesignCrumbs.com and I’m the Director of Design at ActionNetwork.org. More importantly, I read a lot of comics. I’ve been a Modern Age Comics customer since 2013. Jesse asked if I’d build a new site for him, and here we are. I take care of the user interface and the frontend development, while my partner on this site, Spencer Finnell, has been doing a lot on the backend development.

We have a simple goal: Make the pull list easier for both sides of the Modern Age Comics counter.

Since we launched a few weeks ago, we’ve been adding features and smashing bugs like:

So without further ado, here’s a quick timeline including most of the features and bug fixes we’ve made. I hope to continue blog posts like this with each future release.
